The Patriots re-signed veteran RB Kevin Faulk and signed free-agent DL Steve Williams on Saturday.
The team also made official the re-signings of RB Sammy Morris and CB Kyle Arrington, and that OLG Logan Mankins signed his franchise tender.
Faulk is entering his 13th season with the Patriots and is the team's all-time leader in all-purpose yards. He tore his ACL last season in Week Two and missed the rest of 2010.
Williams spent the summer of '09 with the Patriots and played for the B.C. Lions of the CFL the last two seasons.
The way we see it
It's not a surprise the Patriots brought back Faulk, who is a leader in the locker room and one of the franchise's all-time best players. But with Morris also re-signed, the team has six running backs. It won't be easy for Bill Belichick to have to cut either Faulk or Morris if that's what it comes down to.
