The Jets signed a cornerback, but it's not the one everyone is waiting for.
The team agreed to terms with Donald Strickland, who played nine games for the Jets in 2009. Jenny Vrentas of The Star Ledger first reported the move. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Strickland played in all 16 games for the Chargers last season. He has also played for the 49ers, Eagles and Colts.
In '09 with the Jets, Strickland recorded two sacks and two passes defensed.
New York lost out in the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes and could be working to bring back CB Antonio Cromartie, who is an unrestricted free agent.
The Jets lost Drew Coleman to the Jaguars, and Strickland could help replace Coleman as a nickel back.
