The Seahawks re-signed their top free-agent priority, DT Brandon Mebane.

Mebane has spent four seasons with Seattle since being drafted in 2007. He started all 12 games he played in last season recording 31 tackles and two passes defensed.

The team also reached deals with free-agent DTs Alan Branch and Junior Siavii. Branch played 16 games last season with the Cardinals recording 35 tackles. Siavii started six games in Seattle last year with 30 tackles.

The team also re-signed FB Michael Robinson.

The way we see it

When Mebane was out last year, the run defense suffered significantly. He is a very solid 3-technique who was in demand around the league and was the team's top priority to re-sign. Having Mebane back is also key considering Colin Cole's injury that has him on the physically-unable-to-perform list to start camp. Branch had his best year with Cards last year and that could signal the departure of Raheem Brock.
