The Jets signed former Australian Football Leaguer Chris Bryan to compete for the team's punting job, his agent David Canter announced on Twitter.

Bryan played in four games for the Buccaneers last season. He had 23 punts with a net average of 34.3 yards. He dropped seven punts inside the 20-yard line.

Former Jets P Steve Weatherford agreed to sign with the Giants on Friday. The team also has P T.J. Conley on the roster.

The team announced Friday that it has waived QBs Erik Ainge and Kevin O'Connell. Ainge was on the reserve/did not report list and had announced he had retired. O'Connell is a former third-round pick of the Patriots in 2008.

Jets OG Rob Turner signed his one-year tender, according to CBSSports.com. Turner was a restricted free agent and played in all 16 games last season, filling in on the O-line.
