The Jaguars have parted ways with DE Derrick Harvey, a former top-10 pick of the club.

Taken eighth overall in the 2008 draft, ahead of players such as Jerod Mayo, Joe Flacco and Chris Johnson, Harvey never developed into the type of pass rusher he was at the University of Florida. In three NFL seasons, the end played in 47 games and registered a mere eight sacks.

He was demoted from the starting lineup last season.
