It didn't take long for the Dolphins to find their replacement for ILB Channing Crowder. Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald first reported that the team has agreed to a four-year deal with former Chargers LB Kevin Burnett. The team confirmed the signing later Friday evening.

Burnett started all 16 games last season for the first time in his career. He recorded 95 tackles, six sacks, five passes defensed and two interceptions in 2010.

The Dolphins cut Crowder, who was one of their key run-stoppers.

The team also announced the signing of LB Jason Trusnik. He made 24 tackles in 16 games last season, including five starts.

The way we see it

Burnett's ability to get after the quarterback last season should be intriguing for the Dolphins, who didn't get much of a pass rush up the middle. He will likely compete with Tim Dobbins to start alongside Karlos Dansby. Trusnik adds depth to the linebacking corps and should also contribute on special teams.
