The Bears re-signed SLB Nick Roach on Friday. According to ESPNChicago.com, it's a two-year deal worth about $4 million.
Roach, who has started 30 games over the past three seasons, is expected to start on the strong side. The fifth-year veteran started six games on the strong side last season, filling in for the injured Pisa Tinoisamoa, who is a free agent and appears unlikely to return to Chicago.
The way we see it
The Bears showed interest in free-agent Justin Durant earlier this week and he may have been their first choice to start on the strong side, but he agreed to a deal with the Lions. Roach is versatile — he's also started at middle linebacker in the NFL — and has proven he can be a solid starter.
