The Bears agreed to terms with first-round OT Gabe Carimi on Friday, ensuring all five of their draft picks will be under contract for the first practice of training camp on Saturday.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but PFW correspondent Bob LeGere, a beat reporter for the Daily Herald of Arlington Heights (Ill.), tweeted that he expects the contract to be for four years and worth about $7.4 million.
Carimi, the 29th overall pick, is expected to compete for a starting spot. He could open camp as the No. 1 right tackle.
In the PFW 2011 Draft Preview, draft analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Carimi is "a long-limbed, rangy leaner who may never be great, but answered questions about an injury-riddled junior season and showed the mental toughness to win tough battles as a senior."
