The Bengals and Raiders UFA OLB Thomas Howard have agreed on a contract, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Twitter Thursday.

Bengals.com reported Thursday that there were "indications" WLB Keith Rivers could miss the beginning of the season with a wrist injury.

The 6-3, 240-pound Howard was a starter in his first four seasons in Oakland. He appeared in 12 games as a reserve in 2010, notching nine tackles.

Howard's contract is for two years and $6.5 million, according to Schefter. Howard, 28, is entering his sixth NFL season.
