The Patriots will release DT Marcus Stroud on Thursday, PFW correspondent and Boston Herald writer Ian Rapoport reported. The team signed Stroud just before the lockout began.
According to Rapoport, Stroud's injured shoulder had not healed.

The Haynesworth trade certainly makes it easier for the Patriots to part ways with Stroud, especially if he's not at 100 percent. The D-line needed more depth and experience, and with Ty Warren and Mike Wright back from injuries, Stroud still would have had to work to find time on the field.
