The Browns and Packers UFA RB Brandon Jackson have agreed on a two-year, $4.5 million contract, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday.

Jackson, 26, rushed for 703 yards and three touchdowns on 190 carries last season and caught 43 passes for 342 yards and a TD. He made 13 starts, all after Ryan Grant left the lineup with a season-ending ankle injury in Week One.

The way we see it

The addition of Jackson improves the Browns' RB depth, which was very thin at times last season. The 5-10, 216-pound Jackson joins a backfield led by physical Peyton Hills. Jackson and second-year RB Montario Hardesty look to be the Browns' top options beyond Hillis.
