The Seahawks have nabbed the best wide receiver still available, reportedly agreeing to a five-year deal with WR Sidney Rice.

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported that the two sides agreed to terms on the deal on Wednesday evening. The Seahawks and Vikings were the two teams after Rice's services.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the contract is worth up to $44 million with $18.5 million guaranteed. ProFootballTalk.com reported the contract is worth $41.5 million, with $18.5 million guaranteed.

The fifth-year receiver played in just six games last season because of a hip injury. He had 1,312 yards receiving and eight touchdowns in 2009.

The way we see it

Rice goes from one shaky quarterback situation to another in Seattle, where Tarvaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst will compete to start. Rice, who turns 25 on Sept. 1, will be the Seahawks' top receiver. Like Jackson, Rice will reunite with Darrell Bevell. who is the new Seahawks offensive coordinator. He held the same title with the Vikings since 2006.
