Donovan McNabb will be heading to his third team in three seasons.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported Tuesday night that the Vikings agreed to trade a sixth-round pick in 2012 and possibly a sixth-round pick in 2013 to the Redskins for McNabb. The deal, however, was contingent on McNabb accepting a pay cut.

On Wednesday evening, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the deal is official and will be announced on Thursday.

The Redskins signed McNabb to a five-year, $78 million contract last season, but McNabb's stay in Washington was far from successful. He threw a career-high 15 interceptions and was benched in favor of Rex Grossman.

The Vikings used their first-round pick to select QB Christian Ponder out of Florida State. Ponder tweeted Wednesday morning, "Excited to have McNabb join. Will learn a lot from a Pro Bowler. But that doesn't mean I'm not still fighting to start week 1!"
