The Redskins, looking to acquire depth at wide receiver, have agreed to a one-year deal with WR Donté Stallworth. The news was first reported by Pro Football Talk.

Stallworth played last season with the Ravens, but he missed the first half of the year due to a broken foot. He ended up with only two receptions on the season in eight games.

Washington, who drafted two receivers in April, is looking for more playmakers at the position.

The deal cannot be made official until Friday.

The way we see it

The Redskins saw the handwriting on the wall with Santonio Holmes, who re-upped with the Jets, and felt the need to add another speed receiver. Stallworth must beat out Anthony Armstrong to make the team because he won't impact special teams at all, unlike the young wideouts the Redskins drafted who will be regular contributors on the kicking units. At this point in his career, Stallworth is somewhat of a one-trick pony as a vertical threat.
