Panthers re-sign LBs Davis and Anderson

The Panthers continue to keep their own in Carolina, agreeing to re-sign LBs Thomas Davis and James Anderson to five-year deals. Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer first reported the move.

Davis is coming off an ACL tear, but GM Marty Hurney said that the training staff believes Davis is in "great physical condition."

Anderson had his best season in 2010, recording 130 tackles and 3½ sacks in 15 starts.

The Panthers have already re-signed RB DeAngelo Williams and DE Charles Johnson.

Hurney also said the team plans to cut PK John Kasay after the team added Olindo Mare.
