The Dolphins re-signed DL Tony McDaniel, bolstering the depth of an already solid defensive line.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that McDaniel agreed to a two-year deal with Miami. McDaniel was an unrestricted free agent and the deal will become official on Friday.
"I am a Dolphin at heart," McDaniel told the Herald. "I'm a big part of their defense. We have a lot of depth on the defensive line, and they showed they like me."
McDaniel recorded 36 tackles and 2½ sacks in 15 games last season.
The way we see it
The signing comes as a bit of a surprise, as the Dolphins' have a fair amount of depth on the D-line, especially with Jared Odrick returning from injury. McDaniel played well last season in the rotation and has the versatility to play nose or end.
