The Cardinals reached an agreement with former Panthers TE Jeff King on Tuesday. ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the move.

King spent his first five seasons in the NFL with the Panthers, starting every game but two in the last four years. He had 19 catches for 121 yards and two TDs last season.

The Cardinals drafted TE Rob Housler, but are otherwise thin at the position. PFW correspondent and Arizona Republic writer Kent Somers confirmed the deal and wrote that King is the run-blocking tight end the Cardinals have been looking for.

King can sign his contract on Friday.
