The Patriots informed CB Tony Carter they will release him, Fox31's Josina Anderson reported Tuesday morning. The move will not be official until waivers begin on Thursday at 4:01 p.m. ET.
Carter played in two games last season for New England, recording one tackle. The Florida State grad played in two games in 2009 with the Broncos.
The way we see it
This comes as no surprise. Carter would have been a long shot to make the roster, especially considering the Pats added CB Ras-I Dowling in the second round of April's draft and another defensive back, Malcolm Williams, in the seventh round.
