Cowboys Pro Bowl OG Leonard Davis will be released Tuesday afternoon, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Davis has been an effective and durable player for the Cowboys in recent seasons, starting all 64 regular-season games since the team acquired him in 2007. He made the Pro Bowl each campaign between 2007-09 and has been one of the team's premier blockers.

According to online reports, the Cowboys will save nearly $6 million in cap space by releasing Davis. The lineman turns 33 years old on Sept. 5, but still has enough in the tank for a team to sign him to a contract.
