Chargers WR Vincent Jackson will be in attendance when the team reports to camp on July 27, ending speculation that he would hold out for a long-term contract for the second consecutive summer.
PFW correspondent Scott Bair of the North County Times tweeted Tuesday that Jackson intends to sign his franchise tag on Friday and be in camp at the first practice. The receiver was thought to be unhappy with being tagged, especially given the rumors that he wanted to be an unrestricted free agent as a settlement for the players' antitrust lawsuit against the NFL.
Jackson held out for eight games last season after being suspended for the first three weeks of the 2010 season; he also did not participate in the team's training camp last season. He is still seeking a long-term contract, but appears willing to play this season in an effort to increase his value.
