As expected, QB Tyler Thigpen will be reuniting with Chan Gailey.
PFW correspondent and South Florida Sun-Sentinel writer Omar Kelly first reported Tuesday night that Thigpen agreed to a three-year deal with the Bills. Gailey was Thigpen's offensive coordinator in Kansas City.
"He's extremely looking forward to it," Thigpen's agent, Joel Turner, told the Buffalo News. "He knows the system, he knows the coach. He loves Chan. His heartstrings really pulled him to Buffalo."
Thigpen played in five games with one start last season for the Dolphins. In Kansas City in 2008, he started 11 games throwing 18 TDs and 12 interceptions.
Thigpen is expected to be Ryan Fitzpatrick's backup. The deal will be official on Friday.
The way we see it
Gailey wanted an athletic quarterback who could move the pocket, and he is familiar with Thigpen. With Miami set to sign a veteran QB, Thigpen would have been the No. 3 in South Beach. In Buffalo, he will be the No. 2, but will not be too far behind Fitzpatrick.
