The Texans announced Mike Maccagnan as their new director of college scouting and Dale Strahm as a national college scout.

Maccagnan previously served as the assistant director of college scouting and has been with the franchise's scouting department since 2000. He will coordinate the Texans' college scouting and help GM Rick Smith evaluate NFL teams and prospects in preparation for NFL free agency.

Before coming to Houston, Maccagnan was a scout for the Redskins and held multiple management roles in the CFL and World League.

Strahm spent 29 years as a college football coach, working as a defensive coordinator for several schools, including Temple, Duke and Georgia. He has been an NFL scout since 1998, working for the Broncos before joining the Texans' staff in 2006.
