Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall said that his wife did stab him nor assault him on April 22.
Marshall's wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, was arrested on April 22 and charged with aggravated battery. She allegedly stabbed Marshall in the abdomen.
"I can't talk about the details of the incident because it's still an open case," Marshall told PFW correspondent and South Florida Sun-Sentinel writer Omar Kelly. "But I did talk to the state's attorney's office last month and the one thing I made clear was my wife did not stab me. She didn't assault me. We were having a marital dispute that got heated, but it didn't happen as reported."
Nogami-Marshall was arrested again on June 10 for being in Marshall's residence, violating the protection order.
"Like any young couple we have issues and hope to work through it. But it's hard to pick up the pieces and try to move forward with the distance that the situation has created. I'm hopeful that we can move forward because I love my wife," Marshall said.
In his first season in Miami, Marshall had 86 catches for 1,014 yards and three touchdowns. He has recovered from the stabbing wound and been training for the 2011 season.
