There was speculation that the Redskins were ready to embark on a rampant spending spree the moment that free agency was set to begin, but we hear the reports are not entirely accurate. But we do agree with the fact that the Redskins will continue to look for pieces to fill out their 3-4 defense, which they believe to be incomplete. Among the spots that still need improvement are the three DL positions. Can they fix all three in one (severely shortened) offseason? No, even with two draft picks — second-rounder Jarvis Jenkins and seventh-rounder Chris Neild — already on board. The Redskins certainly appear to have serious interest in Packers DE Cullen Jenkins, and they might even use signing his brother, former Jets NT Kris Jenkins, as an incentive to come to Washington. Will it be enough? Our sources are not sure and believe the Redskins, who have the reputation for years of paying top dollar in free agency, might be used by the Cullen Jenkins camp for leverage.
