Buccaneers OG Davin Joseph, an unrestricted free agent, has said that his decision on whether to re-sign with the Bucs will be affected by the way the team deals with OT Jeremy Trueblood and MLB Barrett Ruud, two fellow free agents. He would like to see the Bucs commit to keeping those players, rather than make changes.
It's no secret re-signing Joseph is the Bucs' top priority — we hear Joseph is well aware Tampa Bay is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep him and we're told the team plans to pursue re-signing Trueblood and Ruud as well.
If the Bucs follow through on their plan, it would be an upset if Joseph does not stay with the team.
While Trueblood lost his starting job to James Lee last season, we hear the Bucs would like to give Trueblood a chance to compete against Lee for the top spot at right tackle in training camp, and Ruud would return as the starting middle 'backer.
