According to PFW Texans correspondent John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans and the Saints have cancelled three joint practices before their Aug. 20 preseason game at Reliant Stadium.

The teams have practiced together in the previous three training camps, leading up to their preseason game. It has become a popular event among fans in the cities, separated by just 350 miles. Last year's practices were in New Orleans.

Because of the ongoing lockout and the uncertainty regarding the start of training camp, the teams' head coaches, Gary Kubiak and Sean Payton, agreed to cancel practices.

"Sean and I really wanted to do it, but we've got so much to make up, we thought it would be better to not do it this year and pick it back up next year," Kubiak said. "It was a mutual decision."
