After hitting a home run last offseason with the addition of veteran free-agent DT Fred Robbins, who was also a quality contributor to the well-regarded Giants defense formerly coordinated by Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo, we hear the Rams could have their sights set on at least a few more familiar free-agent defenders this offseason. Three players in particular we hear the Rams might be very interested in are Eagles SS Quintin Mikell, Giants DT Barry Cofield and Vikings OLB Ben Leber. Mikell played under Spagnuolo in Philly when the head coach was an assistant with the Eagles, Cofield played under Spagnuolo in New York along with Robbins and Leber has a history worth noting with Rams LB coach Paul Ferraro, who previously coached Minnesota's special teams. All three players could figure as potential instant starters at positions widely considered to be in dire need of more depth.
