Former Bears RB Garrett Wolfe had felony charges against him dropped on Tuesday from his May 22 arrest at a Miami Beach, Fla., nightclub.

Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune reported that felony charges were not filed in the case. Wolfe's defense attorney, Christopher Lyons, told the Tribune that it was a "major victory" for Wolfe.

Wolfe was charged with retail theft, disorderly conduct, assault of a police officer and resisting an officer with violence. He refused to pay a bar tab of nearly $1,600. The charge of resisting an officer with violence was changed to resisting an officer without violence. It's a misdemeanor and Lyons said that charge would be resolved in the next 30 to 60 days.

Wolfe has spent all four seasons in the NFL with the Bears, rushing for 282 career yards and a touchdown.
