Vikings DE Ray Edwards made his heavyweight boxing debut on Friday night in Hinckley, Minn. a successful one with a four-round unanimous decision over T.J. Gibson.

Edwards, who is expected to leave the Vikings as an unrestricted free agent once free agency begins, knocked down Gibson twice as several of his Vikings teammates in the near-capacity crowd at Grand Casino looked on.

Edwards weighed in for the fight at 6-5 and 258½ pounds, outweighing Gibson by 36½ pounds with a reach advantage of seven inches.
