A key decision facing the Titans once the lockout is lifted will be what to do with veteran SS Chris Hope. He is owed $6.5 million in 2011, plus a $500,000 roster bonus — a significant investment considering that Hope did not play well last season. We hear Hope could rebound in '11 if new coordinator Jerry Gray uses him closer to the line of scrimmage where he's at his best. The club spent a seventh-round flier on CB-S Tommie Campbell, but the chances of the collegiate corner pushing Hope next season are slim. Tennessee is not expected to be big spenders in free agency, which likely eliminates guys like Eric Weddle and Melvin Bullitt from consideration. Team insiders say that backup Nick Schommer would have had a realistic shot at taking Hope's starting job under the old regime of Jeff Fisher and Chuck Cecil. It will be interesting to see where Schommer fits in under Gray.
