Broncos CB Perrish Cox pleaded not guilty on Monday to two sexual assault charges in Castle Rock, Colo., a suburb south of Denver.

Cox is facing two felony charges — one count of sexual assault while the victim was physically helpless and one count of sexual assault while the victim was incapable of determining the nature of the conduct — for actions that allegedly took place on Sept. 6, 2010.

Details of the case have been sealed by the courts and his trial is set to take place on Oct. 18, the Tuesday following the Broncos' Week Six bye, which could force Cox to miss time this season and possibly much longer. If convicted of the charges, he could serve anywhere from two years to life in prison. He is free on $50,000 bail.
