The lawyer for Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth pleaded not guilty on the player's behalf to a misdemeanor sexual abuse charge at a Washington, D.C. courthouse on Tuesday morning, according to multiple media outlets.

A trial date has been set for July 11, according to The Washington Post.

Haynesworth was indicted by a grand jury last month for a February incident where a cocktail waitress in Washington claimed he assaulted her. According to The Washington Post, prosecutors had offered to dismiss the sexual abuse charge if Haynesworth would plead guilty to simple assault, but that was rejected by Haynesworth's defense lawyer, A. Scott Bolden, who stated his client is innocent.
