Contrary to popular belief, the Chargers did not draft San Diego State WR Vincent Brown in the third round of the draft as insurance with Malcom Floyd and Legedu Naanee likely leaving whenever free agency begins and Vincent Jackson expected to depart as soon as his contract expires following the '11 season. Brown's skills translate perfectly to the San Diego attack, thanks to his intelligence and ability to make plays on any ball thrown in his direction with incredible hands. Chargers head coach Norv Turner scouted Brown heavily in the pre-draft process, first at the Senior Bowl and then by running the receiver drills at the Aztecs' pro day. Turner said the 5-11¼, 187-pound Brown "has a style that fits what we like to do offensively," and it would not be a shock to see Brown lining up across from Jackson in an all-Vincent offense when the Chargers take the field in Week One.
