The addition of Maryland WR Torrey Smith in Round Two adds some needed field-stretching speed to the Ravens' offense. Of Smith, general manager Ozzie Newsome, said, "(We) just added that 'three-point-shooter,' I guess you could say. At any point if the ball gets in (Smith's) hands, (PK) Billy (Cundiff) is coming out to kick an extra point." The feeling is the Ravens will actively work to get Smith, who has been timed at 4.42 seconds in the 40-yard dash, touches on offense even if he isn't a starter in Year One. Indeed, with Smith, fourth-round WR Tandon Doss, second-year WR David Reed and second-year TE Ed Dickson, the Ravens have created a promising corps of pass catchers for the future — not to mention a group that should complement established targets WRs Derrick Mason and Anquan Boldin, TE Todd Heap and RB Ray Rice in the short term.
