The Eagles made four draft picks and were well into the fourth round when they made perhaps their most controversial choice. Nebraska PK-P Alex Henery was one of the finest kickers in the country last season, so it's no surprise he was taken early. But to land on the Eagles — who appear set at kicker with David Akers and punter with Sav Rocca — was one of the shockers on Day Three of the draft. Akers had a nightmarish playoff game in the loss to the Packers, missing two of his three FG attempts, but he otherwise was tremendous last season. Rocca also had a strong, consistent season. Although Andy Reid was not too revealing in his post-draft interview, we hear he wanted to make sure he had a strong contingency plan for Akers, 36, who was given the transition tag prior to the lockout. There's a good chance that Akers is tendered but forced to compete with Henery for his job in camp.
