The Dolphins addressed their need for speed by drafting WR Edmond Gates in the fourth round. Gates will get to challenge to be the 'Fins' fourth receiver and has a legitimate chance to be the team's kickoff returner.
PFW draft expert Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Gates has "flat-out speed," something the Dolphins desperately wanted to help stretch defenses and open things up for Brandon Marshall. Marshall, Davone Bess and Brian Hartline are the team's top three receivers, but behind them are two undrafted WRs, Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace. The team is high on both, but Gates could certainly challenge them with his speed.
Where Gates could be a fantasy option is in leagues with return points. CB Nolan Carroll handled kickoff returns last season, but the Dolphins still could use an upgrade. Gates didn't return much in college, but expect Miami to give him a shot. If he becomes the team's top returner and gets into the WR rotation, he could provide some fantasy value.
