The tight end is an important element in Bill Musgrave's West Coast-steeped scheme, so landing Rudolph makes some sense. Is he going to challenge Visanthe Shiancoe for the starting job? No, but they needed to take someone at the position with Shiancoe and Jim Kleinsasser aging.

Rudolph should be a good weapon in time, and if the Vikings try to bring in a veteran, it might alter his fantasy value. But for now, he can't be considered a front-line prospect.
