Similarly to Shane Vereen, Stevan Ridley could get some touches in Bill Belichick's rotating backfield, but he will be hard-pressed to get fantasy points.

The Patriots needed to add backs, and by adding two on Friday it appears that the three veterans — Fred Taylor, Kevin Faulk and Sammy Morris will be gone. While BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead had breakout seasons, Belichick likes to split carries, and Green-Ellis is likely not a 300-plus carries guy. But, Green-Ellis will take the red-zone carries with Woodhead getting receptions.

Where does Ridley fit in? He's a solid blocker, meaning he could give Woodhead spells on third down and become a good pass catcher for Tom Brady. He ran for over 1,000 yards in the SEC, so he can be productive, but doesn't have the speed to help on returns.

Unless Ridley has a training-camp breakthrough like the backs ahead of him had last season, he won't get enough looks to be a fantasy option, especially considering he will have to battle with Vereen to be the team's third back.
