The Patriots have interest in trading up to acquire the No. 6 overall pick, currently held by Cleveland, in Thursday's draft, according to The Boston Globe.

The Pats have been in touch with the Browns, according to The Globe, which cited a league source, and appear to be high on North Carolina DE Robert Quinn. New England could also have interest in Alabama WR Julio Jones and LSU CB Patrick Peterson, according to The Globe.

Browns president Mike Holmgren told The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer on Wednesday that Cleveland has discussed trading down in Round One.

The Patriots hold the No. 17 overall pick in the first round, as well as the No. 28 overall pick later in the round. They also have two picks in Rounds Two and Three, including the top selection in the second round (No. 33).
