The NFL told Arizona and Tampa Bay on Friday that they are the two finalists to host the 2015 Super Bowl.
"We are delighted to receive the terrific news that Arizona is one of two finalists for the 2015 Super Bowl. As I have always said, we are in the Super Bowl business and believe we have the best facilities and most hospitable venue in the country," said Mike Kennedy, Arizona Super Bowl host committee chairman.
The final bids from the two cities will be submitted by Aug. 1, and the league will decide in October.
Tampa last hosted the NFL's title game in 2009, when the Steelers beat the Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII. Arizona hosted the year before, when the Giants upset the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
