The Browns, who hold the No. 6 pick in Round One in Thursday's draft, have discussed trading down from that spot, team president Mike Holmgren told PFW Browns correspondent Tony Grossi of The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer on Wednesday.

"We are talking to people about trading," Holmgren said, according to The Plain Dealer. "I am not going into any more detail than that."

Holmgren told the paper that if the Browns were to trade the No. 6 pick, it would be to move back in the draft, not up.

"We're not going to go that way," Holmgren said, according to The Plain Dealer.

The way we see it

The Browns, who are changing offensive and defensive schemes, have a host of needs, with wide receiver, defensive end and defensive tackle among the primary positions that could stand to be bolstered. Trading down could yield the Browns more picks in the 2011 draft and would allow Cleveland to continue to improve its depth.
