The respondents to a PFW poll question asking who Carolina will select with the first overall pick overwhelmingly believe that Auburn QB Cam Newton will be the choice.

Newton, the Heisman Trophy-winning signalcaller who led his Auburn team to the BCS championship in his lone season as starter, garnered 1,831 of the 3,319 votes registered (55.2 percent).

The next choice, according to respondents, was Alabama DL Marcell Dareus (26.9 percent). The other three players were distant choices, with LSU CB Patrick Peterson (7.6 percent), Georgia WR A.J. Green (6.1 percent) and Texas A&M LB Von Miller (4.2 percent) rounding out the voting.
