Vikings owner Zygi Wilf is optimistic that plans for a new stadium in Minnesota will be completed in the near future, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Wilf would not give any details as to the progress the team has made in a surprise visit to the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul on Thursday, but remained hopeful that something would get done.

"We're confident that we have the parts in place to get this done this session," Wilf said, according to the Star Tribune. "We're right now in the process of working with several potential [local] partners. They're very much willing and able to get this deal done."

The Vikings contract with the Metrodome, where they have played for 29 years, expires after this season.

Wilf also dismissed reports that he was interested in selling the team.

"There are no talks like that," he told the paper.
