Hall of Fame LB Lawrence Taylor, who was placed on probation last month stemming from a sexual misconduct charge in May 2010, was declared a low-risk sex offender in a New York courthouse on Tuesday according to the AP.
Prosecutors argued for a level 2 designation for Taylor, who pleaded guilty to patronizing an underage prostitute. The former linebacker instead was given a level 1 ruling by Rockland County Court Judge William Kelly, meaning Taylor's photo will not be posted on an online sex-offender registry.
"The difference between level 1 and 2 is almost minuscule because of the notification that has already gone out to the world," Kelly said. The judge added that Taylor, "would be awfully foolish to go out and to this again."
The former Giants star did not attend the hearing and received six years probation as a result of the charge.
