Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald has organized informal workouts with 20 of his teammates on Tuesday at an Arizona State practice field, according to PFW correspondent and Arizona Republic writer Kent Somers.
With players locked out of team facilities, and now being the time teams would have begun offseason activities, the Cardinals decided to do their best to stay in shape, led by Fitzgerald.
Thanks to a call from Fitzgerald, retired WR coach Jerry Sullivan will join the workouts to work with Cardinals receivers through the week. Sullivan was an assistant with the Cardinals and most recently worked with the 49ers.
"I'm not pressuring anybody," Fitzgerald said. "I tried to call all of my teammates, guys I thought would be in town and just say, 'hey, if you guys want to get together, I'm more than happy to have you in. I'll get the footballs. I'll bring the trainer. Just bring your cleats and some water.'"
"Fitz put the word out and guys have responded," said OL Rex Hadnot.
RB Tim Hightower, C Lyle Sendlein, LB Clark Haggans amd QBs John Skelton and Max Hall were among the players in attendance.
