Chad Ochocinco's time on the pitch is not over yet.

The Bengals' wideout earned a spot on Sporting Kansas City's reserve team after a five-day tryout.

"This is so awesome I'm an honorary member of SportingKC and can train with the reserve team as long as I want," he said in a tweet.

As a member of the reserve squad, Ochocinco will work out a couple times per week. He will not be paid or given a contract.

"He realized he's not good enough to make the team and play in games," club spokesman Dave Borchardt said. "This way, he gets to be part of the soccer locker room, which is a dream come true."

Ochocinco, who started playing soccer as a child before giving it up to focus on football after 10th grade, will be able to use his spot on an MLS reserve squad to help stay in shape during the current NFL lockout.
