Eagles Hall of Fame linebacker/center Chuck Bednarik was rushed to a hospital Tuesday after experiencing a shortness of breath. Bednarik is in serious condition at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa.

Bednarik, 85, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967. He was a member of the Eagles' 1949 and 1960 NFL championship teams.

Bednarik's son-in-law, Ken Safarowic, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Bednarik is conscious and as "feisty as ever." He said Bednarik will likely remain hospitalized at least another day.
