As his profile as a pro boxer grows, Ravens S Tom Zbikowski's pro football career could be on the upswing, too, particularly if the Ravens do not re-sign starting SS Dawan Landry, whose contract is up. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told season-ticket holders on March 11 that Zbikowski will have a chance to challenge for a starting role next season. Zbikowski made six starts in place of the injured Ed Reed at the beginning of last season and "played well," said Harbaugh, who added that both Zbikowski and fellow reserve S Haruki Nakamura, who also could challenge for a bigger role, have starter ability. Zbikowski, an accomplished amateur boxer growing up in Illinois, won in his return to the boxing ring on March 12, defeating Richard Bryant by technical knockout 1:45 into the first round in Las Vegas. Zbikowski, who has made no secret of his love of boxing, has his next fight scheduled for Atlantic City on March 26.
