The Jaguars think they have found the cornerstones of a dominant run defense for years to come in young DTs Terrance Knighton and Tyson Alualu. Finding talented linebackers who can get downhill quickly and finish plays is something for which they are still searching. Veteran free-agent LBs Kirk Morrison and Justin Durant did not make enough tackles behind the line of scrimmage in 2010. We have been hearing for some time that they will not be re-signed, which leaves the Jaguars with only two 'backers with starting experience on the roster. SLB Daryl Smith is a tackling machine who was one of the team's best players last season. LB Russell Allen, who has started nine games in two seasons in the NFL, is best suited to provide depth and help on special teams. Gene Smith has not drafted a linebacker in two years since becoming the team's general manager, but we hear that is likely to change next month.
