Former Dolphins QB Pat White told the Royals that he is retiring from baseball.

The 25-year-old signed a minor-league contract with the Royals in September after being released by the 'Fins. He did not report to spring training.

The Dolphins picked White in the second round of the 2009 draft out of West Virginia, where White starred as a dual-threat quarterback. It was assumed White would enhance the Dolphins' "Wildcat" formation, but he played in just 13 games.
